
I have never been a fan of remakes though sometimes…sometimes they just work.
For instance, John Carpenter’s 1982 movie The Thing is a remake of Christian Nyby’s (with uncredited direction from Howard Hawks) The Thing From Another World or David Cronenberg’s 1986 movie The Fly, a remake of the 1958 original.
Both are far better than the films that inspired them though it should go without saying that most remarks aren’t as good.
So, while I’d like to hope that the reboot of Adrian Lyne’s 1990 movie Jacob’s Ladder will at least approach the awesomeness of either of those remakes, one can hope.
